Neurological conditions, stroke and brain injury

Feldenkrais is a neurologically based and innovative approach to improving function and movement. The method uses movement and directed attention to create the conditions for organic learning. This type of learning forms new neural pathways in the brain and improves the range, precision and quality of movement and function.

Feldenkrais practitioners do not see the client’s condition as a limiting problem but work from what is possible for a person to do toward open-ended improvement of function and mobility.

Feldenkrais is used with children and adults to help with a wide range of conditions and symptoms. These include:

  • Cerebral palsy
  • Autism
  • Scoliosis
  • Stroke
  • Reduced function due to brain injury or disease
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson's disease
